State House Passes Bill for Selling More Homemade Food
Folks in Yavapai County who like to bake and cook might be able to sell more than just homemade baked goods. Foods made in home kitchens beyond baked goods would be legal to sell on street corners under a bill the Arizona House gave final approval to Thursday. House bill 2509 adds highly perishable homemade foods, like soups and tamales, to the list of the so-called cottage food exemptions.
The Republican bill got enthusiastic bipartisan support from lawmakers like Democrat Consuelo Hernandez:
